Trisomy 12 is one of the most commonly reported chromosome aberrations in B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and is of prognostic importance. FISH analysis detects trisomy 12 in nondividing cells, which cannot be identified with routine cytogenetic studies.
