Acute Viral Hepatitis is a systemic infection affecting the liver predominantly. Hepatitis A , B, C & E are common causes of Acute Viral Hepatitis producing clinically similar illnesses ranging from asymptomatic to fatal acute infections. Subclinical persistent infections of Hepatitis B & C virus may progress to Chronic liver disease with Cirrhosis and even Hepatocellular carcinoma.
